K & M Farms is committed to growing chickens in a natural way. We extend this philosophy to the production of our free range chickens. They have access to outdoors but do not live outdoors permanently like our pasture chickens. When in the barn the free range chickens have extra room to roam, and we encourage activity with natural light from large windows. And of course their feed is free of antibiotics, soy, steroids and hormones.
For meat markets and restaurants K & M Farms free range chickens fill a niche market between certified organic chicken and mainstream chicken. We meet the certified organic growing standards for animal care while using a standard diet. As a result our price point can be lower than certified organic but a little higher than mainstream chicken.
K & M Farms offers direct farmer contact for your customers. Our personal picture and web page is on the label. We also hold a farm open house once a year (in September) where customers can come to the farm and see how their chicken is grown
